SRHA NEWSLETTER - July 2009

Hello!

We?’ve had several requests to better communicate this year. I hope to do so without being a pest. Here is what is happening in the Neighborhood, now and future:

Rebecca Adams is working on updating the emails. We will be communicating by email for the most part, however, those who prefer a letter, we will continue to use your mailbox. If you received this letter in your mailbox, we do not have an email for you. Contact Rebecca @ thccdapr@sbcglobal.net to update your email address or make a request.
Rebecca is also working on updating our website.

Curt Crossland is working on designs for the South Entrance. We will share all that information with you at the next meeting, hopefully to include cost and start date.

Next General Meeting will be end of August. Exact Date to be determined?…definitely after school is back in. At this meeting we will also have a presentation from the police department regarding our new Neighborhood Watch Program.

Ron Brown has completed painting all of the old lampposts and will spray Round up to clean up around bases of all.

The current number of SRHA members is 41. There are 67 homes in SR, 6 of which are for sale. (About 2/3 are members this year so far).

Dr. Martin?’s vacant lot has been cleared. There are a few stumps that will be cut down soon and I sprayed the edges with weed killer. The lot owner will now be responsible for it?’s upkeep, enforceable by the city. Thanks Curt Crossland.

Tod Thompson is working on gathering information regarding the owners of the vacant lots in the neighborhood, so that any debris may be removed from those properties if necessary.

The new Welcome Wagon Committee for this year is: Joyce Dilts, Judy Killion, and Wendy Fugate.

The North entrance landscape is ongoing. Thanks to all helpers. We will have to give the sign another power washing one day soon?…. I do love to power wash, such instant gratification?…but, I?’ll give it up if anyone else would like to do it.

And then there?’s the South entrance drainage issue. After 3 years Ron has finally been able to get confirmation from the city. The City Council approved the budget. The contractors are required to finish the job within the next 60 days. Way to stick with it, Ron!

Street Slurry?…per City, not scheduled for our area until 2011.

Three SR families have recently had new babies arrive. Congratulations to The Miller?’s, The Ramsey?’s and The Schwab?’s!

That is all to report at the moment. As always, if you have any questions comments or and ideas for improvement, call me @ 626-0057 or lani@cableone.net.

Have a lovely rest of summer!
