A new group has been recently formed to work together to reinvent and revitalize the alumni association so that it works for the way things are now as opposed to the way things were 20 or 30 years ago. We want to serve the alumni who went to Cohn in the 30s, 40s. 50s, 60s, 70s, and early 80s, but we are also putting an emphasis on doing things that will enhance the building itself and make old Cohn a viable part of the community again.

"I am putting a motion on the floor very soon that we attempt to sponsor Community Service events for the Sylvan Park and West Nashville area at least twice a year - maybe more. I was thinking of things that would benefit the community - for instance, one idea I had was to bring in the Metro Police Department and sponsor a "Safety for Our Neighborhood Children Day." The police dept. are more than happy to come out and fingerprint the kids, and we could give out some great "don't talk to strangers" type literature. And, of course, the Red Cross is always happy to do blood drives. I'm open to suggestions.
If you have any ideas as to some type of community service event, I would welcome the input from you as a representative of the community.
Thanks a lot,"
