Toonerville Trolley Neighborhood Association Meeting
January 19, 2006
St. Philip?’s Chapel

Meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm by President Kevin Kouba.

Then he reflected that several had said that the group needed more
socials?—we were not eating enough! Therefore, to start out a grazing
agenda, the May meeting will be at Helga Ulrich?’s home on Ormsby?—a potluck.
Kevin also planned to check with the area restaurants to see if they would
offer an invitation for meetings in July and August which are usually too
warm at St. Philip?’s (no air conditioning). Everyone nodded their heads in
agreement!

Treasurer?’s report: There is $3,033.88 in the treasury and it?’s time for
dues again--$10 per person, $20 per household and $50 per business. Dues
are paid for the calendar year and are due in January.

It was pointed out that we had purchased liners for 2 new
trashcans?…apparently someone had stolen them for laundry tubs or some other
purpose. The Old Louisville Info Center paid for yet a third in the
Toonerville area. That led to a discussion about what to do with some of
the collected funds?—new trashcans for other sites was suggested.

Second Street Association is doing a new project that will take in all of
Old Louisville?—They are wanting to plant new trees?—some that are
interesting. Then it was suggested that we use some of the funds to help
beautify the grounds of St. Philip?—bulbs, trees, etc. Kevin said that there
were bulbs left over from the fall sale and they will be donated to St
Philip for planting. This received informal approval. No decision was
made on other fundraising ideas but everyone agreed that it was easier to do
a fundraiser for some purpose.

Kevin said that he planned to present another opportunity for selling bulbs
from the same company?—this time a spring bulb sale. Toonerville gets half
the cost of the bulbs! He will have the forms at the next meeting. Also,
we will talk about a spring clean up at the February meeting.

Helga Ulrich presented the Crime and Safety Report. Crime was down in
December. Police officials are attending the C&S meetings and hearing about
pockets of problems. One officer is teaching self defense classes and the
flyer will be sent to TTNA folks on the email list. They can also do a
class in the afternoon if there is interest. The police are paying for
these classes. One recent problem was the dismantling of air conditioning
units to steal the copper piping.

There was some discussion about the largeness of Toonerville?—perhaps we need
to subdivide? However, if that is to be done, it should be done in an
orderly way that would allow the other area?—Toonerville II to be successful.
One way to deal with the largeness is to have Vice Presidents from different
areas?…No motion was made following these discussions.

Don Driskell is now on the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council and if we
have issues, we can pass them on to him for a larger hearing.

A survey will be sent around via email to get your ideas about what the
association should undertake this year. Also to be queried are your
concerns. Then we will do a poll to see what are the top 3-4 ideas/issues
which can appropriately be tackled by the association and which stand some
chance of being done.
