JUNK VEHICLES IN THE STREET OR ON PRIVATE PROPERTY

How to Deal with Junk Vehicles in the Neighborhood

It is illegal to store junk cars, cars which are not in operating condition, or cars which do not have current registration on private property unless strict storage requirements are followed. They may also not be parked on the street. Proper storage means the vehicle is in a garage, covered in a carport with a vehicle cover, or screened from view from the street, such as behind a fence.

How to Report Junk Vehicles

If you have a situation where a junk or inoperable car is parked on the street or stored in plain view on private property, you can call TPD at 911 or 791-4444. You may also make a report online. See the link below. In either case, the report is treated as anonymous, and your name will not be used by TPD in contacting the owner. TPD prefers to have contact info so they can contact you if necessary. But they will not provide that information to the property owner.
