CABS

Nov 01, 2001

CABS stands for Campus Area Bus Service. The Ohio State University?’s Department of Transportation and Parking runs this bus service . It not only provides bus service all over the OSU campus, but also in residential neighborhoods nearby. And the rides are free to anyone.

If you want to go anywhere near campus and live near Hudson and 4th you may get on the East Residential bus which will take you to High Street via Summit and 15th, north on High to Woodruff, south and east through the campus core and east on 12th again to N. 4th Street. The North Residential goes east on Woodruff to High, north to North St. past Dodridge, west to Neil and south through the central campus. The South Residential loops around Neil, 12th, College Rd. and 11th and continues down Neil Avenue to Thurber Village and back again. There are also a number of bus routes on the campus proper.

Times between buses vary from 6 minutes to an hour, depending on the route and the time of the academic year. No buses run on official university holidays.

This is a very useful free service if you are without a car or if parking on campus is a huge hassle and expense. For more information on the bus service, call CABS at 292-9341 or check it out on the web at www.tp.ohio-state.edu Their e-mail address is tpinfo@osu.edu
