The University Area Commission is holding elections for representatives in four districts covered by the Commission.
Any persons 18 years of age or older residing in the district since April 1, 2000, may choose to run for Commissioner. Election packets are available from the University Area Commission Election Board. Election packets MUST be picked up in person. Please call 292-9500 or 294-5113 to be sure a staff member will be present at the time of pick up.
The Commission is an extension of City government, therefore specific election procedures and guidelines exist.
POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED AT THIS ELECTION:
DISTRICT 1 Commissioner - One 3-Year Term, ending 2004
DISTRICT 2 Commissioner - One 3-Year Term, ending 2004
DISTRICT 3 Commissioner - One 3-Year Term, ending 2004
DISTRICT 4 Commissioner - One 3-Year Term, ending 2004 and
One 2-Year Term, ending 2003

Please contact the University Area Commission if you are an interested resident, and to find out the deadline for filing nominating petitions and the deadline for filing write-in declarations.
The University Area Commission election will be held Saturday June 2, 2001, and polling places will be open from 10 AM until 4 PM (a polling place list will be submitted in the near future). Residents in the community may only vote for a candidate in their district.
Newly elected Commissioner(s) take office at the beginning of the annual meeting in June (third Wednesday).
