The University Oaks Neighborhood Association?’s annual meeting is open to everyone and scheduled for 3:00 PM Sunday, April 3 at the Clubhouse.
Development along Vance Jackson adjacent to our community puts increased demands on our storm water drainage system, and uncovers new problems of flooding and completing a box culvert system that was never built. Our community once again faces challenges that require your input to help direct the board to find the best course of action.
Additionally, our ongoing financial concerns must be addressed. Insurance rates have increased tremendously over the past five years. The boards purpose is to meet our mission statement by finding ways of keeping the Clubhouse, Pool, and Grounds open and attractive. This task gets more difficult each year since we are without mandatory homeowners fees, and only 40% of the 238 homes participate in some way to financially support our neighborhood. Your input is needed to help us discover new means of generating income.
Also, each year board members are elected from those who voluntarily agree to serve the community. The board?’s current president, Tom Allen, will not be seeking another 'term,?’ but remain as a member-at-large. Please consider joining the volunteers in some capacity; everyone, and all ages, are welcomed.
Finally, the annual meeting serves as one of the many events University Oaks Neighborhood Association creates to build a strong community. Meet your fellow neighbors and add your voice to making the place we all call home a special place to live.
