Who should hold public office?

There was a man who had a good job. But this wasn't good enough for him. Bad habits die hard. When he was younger, he and some friends did work for seniors. They took their money and never finished the jobs.

The man he worked for got a call one day from a woman who said she was a customer and had a complaint. He found no record of her.

She had an invoice from his company. It was found that the employee had used the company eguipment and material and pocketed the money.

He had been doing this for some time and was fired. The man had to close his business.

The employer said he had known this man since a teenager and hated to press charges because he liked the family.

When the man got sick his family paid all the expenses for the family. This was not known by the employer. He felt pity for the man and also paid the expenses.

A man who takes advantage of family and friends will do it to anyone.

Would you want this man for a friend? Would you want this man for an employee or in public office?

Would You Also Believe....

There were people who worked hard at letting people know what was going on in their community.

They did their best to share what information they had learned or were able to access with anyone who would listen.

People in the community did listen. The people heard what was being said and took notice about what was going on in their community. The people wanted change and at the next election they voted to make that change and to hopefully get answers to their questions and make their community better.

But something happened along the way to change it from making the community better to getting back at their neighbors.

Would you want someone in public office who abused their position to ''get back'' at someone?

Would you want a person that was so blinded by hatred that they forgot who they were there working for in office and actually hurt the community and the people that lived in the community?

Instead of helping the people that elected them and the community they set out on a policy of retribution and actually made it worse for the community and the people that lived there. They had the opportunity to correct prior wrongs and make a brighter future for the community.

Instead they set out on a destructive course and be damned who stood in their way to get back at those they wanted too.

Whould you want someone in public office like that or would you prefer someone who was working for a better future for the community? Someone who takes the public trust and throws it to the wayside to advance their own agenda is not the type of person that I want to see in office or placed in a position of public trust.

It is never right for ANYONE to ever take advantage of anyone for their own gain. Unfortunately you see it happen all the time. Seniors taken advantage of by Irish Travelers, people taken advantage of by storm chasers, family members taking advantage of older parents or siblings. Immaturity of people making mistakes at a young age. You hope they learn their lessons from their mistakes and change their ways. You also hope that the person makes amends and corrects their wrongs. There are no excuses to allow for anyone to take advantage of others for their own personal gain.

It is difficult to get by someone's past. Think of those that have served time in prison and when they are released they rarely get a chance to prove that they are reformed and can be trusted because of their past. That person made a mistake, paid their dues and now they continue to pay and pay because of a mistake they made in their youth.

Never Changed

The man I spoke of made mistakes in the past. But he never changed. The job he had is not that long ago. He got another job, but used company time for his own agenda.

I told the truth during the campaign you didn't.

It wasn't retribution I wanted, it was the residents and employee's money.

You seem to have a problem with that. WHY?

Russolillo always said, the Village is in the best shape ever. He left and the money wasn't there.

Will Answer To A Higher Power

Ms. White if you can specifically provide where I lied about anything during the election please provide that now.

You are an admitted liar. I never lied about you during your campaign. Anything that I stated is backed up in the public records of the Village or were statements made by you. Do NOT associate me with the statements made by others. I did not make those statements those individuals did.

Based on the poor records that Russolillo was provided I would have said almost the same thing. The Clerks during the Russolillo Administration made accounting mistakes and were sued by the Village. The Village won and recovered money from the past clerks. Why do you not accept that FACT?

The Facts are that when you took office there was money in the Village savings accounts. That money should not have been in a savings account it should have been used to pay the PERS and Taxes. The Clerks messed up and they paid for it. They paid Thousands of dollars of their own money to make up for the mistakes that they made.

NO ONE STOLE money from the Village. The Accounting errors cost the Village and Clerks money. You want to keep claiming that someone stole the money. Audits have shown that not to be the case.

What we do know is that you and your fellow members of Council squandered the money that was in the Village's saving accounts and did not pay the bills of the Village. You and the others made a bad situation worse.

Once you begin blaming everyone responsible than I will stop correcting you. You want to single out three individuals when there are a host of people responsible for the failures of the Village.

I do agree with your statement that all you wanted was the Residents' money. You made more money than anyone else while serving on Council. When the Village was having financial troubles you made sure that you got paid first. You refused to help the Village and waive some of your salary to help the Village.

Those persons that have taken advantage of others will be held accountable. Maybe not now, but they will answer to a higher power in the end as all of us will. We will stand and be judged for what we have done on this earth.
