About 35 people came to the meeting.
Our guest speaker was Cathy Larson, who addressed us on "What we can do now to control noise from the Santa Monica Airport in the future".
This was a timely event, because seven days later the Santa Monica City Council considered an Airport Noise Ordinance Revision at a meetig with public input.
It seems that members of the public turned up in large numbers, far in excess of the capacity of the Council Chamber, so that the proceedings were relayed to another room in Santa Monica City Hall for the benefit of the overflow crowd. Stiff penalties are to be imposed on the owners of airplanes that transgress the provisions of the Noise ordinance, ranging from a thousand dollars to a permanent ban.
