"The Merchants of Venice Blvd."
At the meeting on August 7, the project Planning Committee reported on how the establishment of a 501(c)(3) not-for profit California corporation is coming along. Contributions and gifts to such an entity qualify as tax-deductible to the donor.
Color renderings of median designs were passed around. The Project Planning Committee meets on Monday, August 12, at 7 pm at the Hurry Curry Restaurant to make a selection of suitable trees for the median, for approval by the 9/18 meeting. It was reported that the trees have to be chosen from a CalTrans approved list, because Venice Blvd is a State Highway and is therefore under the jurisdiction of CalTrans.
Get involved and learn how it is done. Then go and apply your new knowledge to YOUR street! Following our elections, the Ven-Mar Neighborhood Association is slated to apply for 501(c)(3) status.
