Help Stamp Out Shopping Cart Blight

Abandoned shopping carts can often be seen in our neighborhood and are unsightly, are a danger to pedestrians and cars, and can cause accidents should they roll into the street. If we all take action to report stray carts, our streets will be safer and more attractive.

To report a stray cart, call 1-800-252-4613 and give the specific location of the cart. The hotline operates 24 hours a day and is staffed by the California Shopping Cart Retrieval Corporation, a non-profit organization headquartered in Monterey Park that was formed 4 years ago by Southern California supermarkets who were losing $12 million a year from stolen carts. (Carts have a value of approximately $ 100 each.) Let’s help keep our streets neat and the price of food down!
