The 162.5 acre site of "The Village at Playa Vista" is divided into approximately 101.7 acres for development and approximately 60.8 acres of passive open space. The proposal is for 2,600 dwelling units, 175,000 sq.ft. of office space, 150,000 sq.ft. of retail space and 40,000 sq.ft. of community-serving uses. The project also includes 9.3 acres of parks, 6.7 acres of riparian habitat and 53.6 acres of bluff face/habitat restoration.

An Environmental Impact Report (EIR)will be prepared by the City of Los Angeles, Department of City Planning.
Public testimony regarding the appropriate scope and content of the environmental information to be included in the Draft EIR will be received at an informational open house and a public “scoping” meeting. This will take place on Thursday, December 12, 2002, at the Furama Hotel, 8601 Lincoln Blvd, Westchester, CA 90045 (310-670-8111) as follows:
Open House: 2 pm - 3 pm and 5 pm - 6 pm
Public Scoping Meeting: 3 pm - 5 pm and 6 pm – 7 pm.
