Rail Removal continues along the West Corridor that started on Friday, June 29, there will be a white substance sprayed onto the track bed where rail and tie removal has been completed to help prevent dust and erosion. This product is biodegradable, very safe and used in projects across the country. Prior to utility relocation, the old trolley tracks along the Associated right-of-way need to be removed.
The track removal is being done by Curdco, a DBE company, as a sub-contractor to the CM/GC. They started in late May and will be complete in late July. The ties need to be removed, the tracks unbolted, pryed up and dragged off to stack on trucks where they are sent for salvage.
