MARCH THINGS TO DO IN YOUR GARDEN

Mar 29, 2004

Spring has arrived, and with our 90-degree days, we are being reminded that summer is right around the corner. But at least for this month and next, we will be able to really enjoy the outdoors in the Valley of the Sun. This is a very important time of the year. Here are some things to do in your yard this month.
1. Prune off all the frozen growth off your frost damaged plants.
2. Paint or protect small citrus tree trunks to avoid sunburn.
3. Feed all lawns and plants with a well-balanced fertilizer.
4. Scalp your Bermuda lawns as low as possible and get them ready for summer.
5. Plant new trees and shrubs as soon as possible.
6. Plant new Bermuda after April 20.
7.Continue to plant your summer vegetables such as melons, squash, peppers, eggplant, and cucumbers.
8.When you work in your garden, wear a big Panama straw hat, a good sunscreen and of course you also want to drink plenty of water.
After you finish your chores, its baseball time. Enjoy the game.

Thank You
