In this time of huge budget crunches in Arizona school districts, many programs suffer without volunteers. You could be a vital part of the education program at Village Meadows School. Any time you can donate, from 2 hours or more, per month time wise will make a BIG difference.
The time you give may be with a certain teacher, grade level, or program (Xeroxing, nurse's office, etc.).
By taking time to assist a struggling student in reading, math, or behavior your impact could be lifelong for that child.
For example, the Junior Achievement program needs 5 more volunteers to teach JA curriculum. You would be assigned a classroom to teach 5 lessons over a 3-month period. All materials and teacher guide is provided. Each Lesson requires 35-40 minutes for the primary and 45-55 minutes for the intermediate grades. There is an hour and half training in January prior to teaching.
By helping with one of the programs, you can free up teacher or classified time for them to complete regular on-going work. The best part of all is that you feel tremendously rewarded!
