The March 1st Council Meeting was completed in a friendly manner without the normal name calling and arguing that had become the norm.
The Council debated such things as the ban on dogs in the ballfield and a ride along program for the Village.
The new auxiliary officers were introduced to the Council and the residents that attended the meeting. While the residents were excited to see the new officers, this was dampened by the announcement that the Village Police Cruisers had been removed from service because of the flood damage sustained last August. The Council began discussion of acquiring police cruisers to be able to get the officers on the Street.
The Finance Committee Meeting that was to follow the Council Meeting was rescheduled to another night because of the late ending time of the meeting. The Finance Committee is working to complete the Permanent Appropriations and because of the time requirements to complete them it was decided to reschedule the meeting and hold it when the Council could direct its full attention to the finances of the Village.
The date of the Annual Easter Egg Hunt was announced as April 3rd and is open to all residents and thier families.
Committee Reports were given by the Streets and Public Safety and Property and Planning Committees.
The meeting was uneventful and an air of civility has returned to the meetings of the Council.
The next Council Meeting is April 5th at 7pm at the Village Hall.
