The hearing for Chief Consolo has been continued until June 3rd, 2002 from the May 14th meeting.
The Council approved a motion by Chief Consolo's Attorney that according to the Ohio Revised Code the hearing could only be held at a regular council meeting not a special meeting as the one called on May 14th. This led to the issuance of a continuance.
Throughout the meeting the Village Council and Village Solicitor blamed the Chief's Attorneys for having to hold the special meeting because they were not prepared to have the hearing at the May 6th regular council meeting. The Chief's attorneys correctly pointed out that they could not defend the Chief properly because they had only received the specifics on the charges against Chief Consolo on May 8th, two days after the regular council meeting.
The hearing will continue on June 3rd at 7:00PM at the Fellowship Hall of the Valleyview Church of Christ in Christian Union at the corner of Valleyview Drive and Murray Avenue.
At the last meeting there were over 120 people present for the hearing. Seating went quickly so if you plan on attending make sure you come early. Whether you support the Chief or not every resident that can should attend the meeting to see how their Village Council and Mayor are working for them.
