At the April 5th council meeting the Village Council voted 5-1 to pass the Ordinance putting in place the Permanent Appropriations for the Village for the 2004 Fiscal Year. Councilwoman White cast the descenting vote.
As part of the Permanent Appropriations money to payoff the IRS debt completely and for the litigation involved with the lawsuits that have come about from the IRS debt was made available. One of the highlights of the appropriations was the Council setting aside money to purchase a new police cruiser for the Police Department. The Council appropriated money for the purchase of a new police cruiser to replace the one totaled in the flood of August 2003 at the Village Hall.
At the meeting the Council passed a resolution placing an ad in the newspaper seeking bids for a new police cruiser. With that and appropriated money if a bid comes to the Village that is acceptable the Council could purchase a new police cruiser.
The Permanent Appropriations had been hammered out at the March 10th Finance Meeting attended by all of the Council Members except Ms. White. All of the Council Members serve on the Finance Committee but Ms. White has refused to serve on the committee.
Mr. Parrish expressed his pleasure with the appropriations passed that evening at the meeting. He was happy to see that the Council had appropriated money for a police cruiser and had met the financial obligations for the IRS debt.
