Councilwoman O'Brien Resigns

Councilwoman Judy O'Brien recently tendered her resignation to the Village Council. Ms. O'Brien's term was to expire December 31, 2005. Ms. O'Brien served for over a year and a half on the Council having been elected by the Council to fill the unexpired term in the seat vacated by Councilman Jack Morgan.

Ms. O'Brien began her service to the Village in February 2003. Ms. O'Brien was a staunch supporter of the residents and represented the residents during one of the more turmoil ridden times in the Village's history. Ms. O'Brien did not support the actions of the former administration that lead to the disbanding of the Village Police Department and was instrumental in helping bringing back the Police Department when the old administration left office at the end of 2003.

Ms. O'Brien's term in office was characterized by her support of the residents and the children of the Village. She volunteered for many of the activites in the Village such as the Easter Egg Hunt and Wiener Roast. Ms. O'Brien's absence from the Council will be felt, but she has stated that she will remain active in the Village and help with many of the activities in the Village.
