POLICE DEPARTMENT COULD BE DISBANDED

It is being reported that Councilman Bob Graves has alledgedly stated that because of the budget problems within the Village he wants the Police Department to be disbanded to save the Village Money.

Mr. Graves alledgedly wants to remove that which protects us and keeps the bad guys on the other side of the tracks. Does he not care about the personal safety of the residents and their property.

It is heard time and time again that the reason most people move to this Village is because it is a quiet place and because of the Police Department. This Village cannot survive if the Police Department is disbanded. The Police Department makes Valleyview what it is, a safe place to raise a family and grow old.

Residents need to be prepared to jump to action if the Council and Mayor threaten to disband the Police Department or lower our level of protection. Many of the residents count on the fact that they know help is only a few minutes if not seconds away.

Tell your Councilmembers and Mayor that you do not want the Police Department disbanded or your level of protection lowered. Let them know how you feel. Write your councilmembers and mayor. Call your councilmembers and mayor. Write letters to the newspaper, state representative, county officials, tell whomever will listen that you will not sit by and watch this council and mayor destroy this Village. The residents need to make a stand before it is too late.
