Villages of Bennington Conservancy are currently organizing a Neighborhood Watch/Emergency Preparedness Program. Our theme "It Takes A Village" seeks to encourage residents to get involved. Your Participation can make a significant difference. Residents interested in participating should contact board member G. Miller at 795-0321
1. Recruit 12 committed residents as Area Coordinators. The planning committee needs one Area Coordinator to represent each of Bennington's 12 villages.
2. Recruit 120 committed residents as Block Captains. The planning committee needs 10 Block Captains to represent each of Bennington's 12 villages.
Residents' committment and effective leadership are vital to the program's success.
INFORMING - We need residents to accept ownership and responsibility for the neighborhood. Know what to look for and how to respond to various situations. Effective leaders make sure information gets to their neighbors.
EMPOWERING - Area Coordinators and Block Captains are expected to offer Villages of Bennington residents information to improve our neighborhood. Being safety conscious and communicating with neighbors will empower residents.
INVOLVING -Residents and leaders who are committed set an example and increase chances of the program's success.
