Pickups must be scheduled. Here's how you can schedule yours

To have items collected from your curb, you need to schedule a pick up date and time. You may also call the Solid Waste Customer Service Center at (704) 336-2673. These items WILL NOT be collected by the regular Rollout garbage, recycling or yard waste collection crews.

Bulky Items That Can Be Collected

* Furniture
* Mattresses & box springs
* Carpet (installed/removed by the homeowner)
* Household furnishings
* Lawn equipment (such as mowers)
* Appliances (such as washers, dryers refrigerators, microwaves, etc.)
* Automobile, motorcycle, van, mini-van and small pick up truck tires

Items placed at curbside without scheduling WILL NOT be collected by regular garbage, recycling or yard waste collection crews.

Items that will not be collected

The following items cannot be collected as bulky items. We suggest contacting a private waste hauler or landfill to discuss disposal of these items.

- Rocks
- Nails or boards with protruding nails
- Propane/oxygen tanks
- Glass
- Marble or simulated marble countertops
- Railroad ties
- Duct or sheet metal materials
- Concrete blocks or brick
- Floor coverings (except carpet/padding installed or removed by homeowner)
- Fence posts with concrete attached
- Chain link fencing
- Hazardous Waste (click here for disposal information)
- Sand
- Concrete
- Pallets
- Central air conditioning or heating units
- Ceramic tile
- Sheetrock
- Roofing materials, shingles
- Propane and/or oxygen tanks
- Metal grocery carts
- Plaster or any materials resulting from contractual work or commercially related activities
- Automobile parts including motors, tires on rims, doors, fenders, car seats, batteries, bumpers
- Any materials resulting from work performed by a contractor
