The Virginia Village/Ellis Community Association?’s goal is printed right above this article. This goal is not attainable without the participation of folks in the community---all of you, new and old alike. Everyone who lives in the neighborhood, or owns property in the neighborhood, or who owns a business in the neighborhood is a member of this community association. Unlike some organizations that charge dues and allow only ?“paid members?” to vote, V.V./E. C.A. considers everyone in the neighborhood to automatically be a member of our association. Our boundaries are Mississippi Ave. on the north and Evans on the south, and Colorado Blvd. on the west to Holly on the east.
You are invited to participate in a number of ways. First, you can subscribe to this newsletter on a regular basis by filling out the form on the top of page 4. Virtually all of our funding comes from you donated subscription fee. Second, you can attend our meetings, which are held the second Tuesday of every month, 7 p.m., in the Virginia Village Library at Dahlia and Florida. Third, you can help deliver newsletters by signing up with Heidi (pg. 3 Newsletter Committee). Fourth, you can participate in our annual democratic process by volunteering to run for any of the elected offices listed on page 3. All offices are open, and for sure at this printing we need someone to run for Secretary (call Diane for more information 303.759.4089). And finally, any of our board members are always interested in getting input from you regarding issues in the neighborhood, or speakers that you would like to get information from regarding city-wide or neighborhood topics.
