The city recently sent a letter about the change in our WLPCA's heavy trash pick-up schedule, from weekly to monthly, the second Friday.
As it says, in the letter, that heavy trash should be placed adjacent to the curb anytime from 6pm the previous Friday to 9am that Friday, I called 311 and clarified - yes, that is an entire week it can sit by the curb, anytime from 6pm the first Friday to 7am the second Friday. Heavy trash may include furniture, appliances, large tree branches and up to 4 tires.
Also worth noting:
1) No contractor/remodeling debris, including roofing, bricks, concrete and tree removal.
2) Appliances with refrigerant must have tag attached certifying that a qualified technician has removed refrigerant.
3) No heavy trash in street or sidewalk, or anyplace that would interfere with vehicular or pedestrian traffic.
4) A maximum of 4 cubic yards.
Neighborhood Depositories will accept same items and up to 10 automobile tires with proof of Houston residency, such as TDL, utility bill or tax receipt. They are open Wednesday through Sunday, except holidays. Closest location is SOUTH AREA 5100 Sunbeam, 713-738-1936.
