West Point Towne Center

another new website??

Posted in: W Point Towne Center
i have just reviewed the august BOD minutes and i am appalled to say the least that this organization would consider another website. this would be more money thrown away. i have spoken to many residents of the community, most of which didnt even know a website existed. i only wish the BOD would have done a full scale investigation to see how much use this current website gets or how many residents would be interested in a new format. for refernce i have included a copy of the posting from the august meeting minutes.
''WPTCHOA owns the website domain www.westpointresidents.com. It will cost $350.00 to build the site and $50.00 monthly to maintain it. Motion was made and seconded to proceed with construction of the website. David will oversee this project.''

personally i would find it much more beneficial to recieve the minutes via mail on paper ( the old fashioned way) not everyone in the community has the internet or access to the internet.

as i have seen in the past im sure nothing will change and the BOD as well as the property mgnt co will continue to friviously spend money until all funds are depleted. while this is only 350$ to start and 600$ year up-keep i can think of many other ways to spend those funds, however it is my choice not to be personally involved with the management of this property.
i continue to wish these 'elected leaders' the best of luck and maybe we can evoke some change when terms are completed.

Think before posting

once again, people opening their mouth without thinking. It doesn't take much to look at your post and realize the faults in it. A web site that costs $50 a month is too much money so we send the notes through the mail to all homeowners. OVer 1600 homeowners and a .37 cent stamp for each. What does that come to? ALMOST $600 PER MONTH! that $50 seems like a bargain doesn't it??

Short bus to school Arthur?

Genius level thinking is going on here. The last poster was correct in stating that snail mail, or as Arthur put it, the ''old fashioned way'' of getting information out would cost much more than building and maintaining a website for all to access 24 hours a day/7 days a week. But hell, that's what Arthur wants and he's just not happy with the current board. He ''chooses'' not to be on the board and he chooses not to attend meetings and voice his concern or try to become part of the solution and not the problem. Arthur, if you would have ''choosen'' to attend the meetings, you would have learned that the board is actually trying to make the web site cost free to us, the homeowners, via advertising, etc. But, that's alright Arthur, I'm all for my dues going towards making sure you get a complete hard copy of the minutes each month placed in your mail box. Nevermind that it is 2002 and the internet is EVERYWHERE. Seriously Arthur, it's time to either adapt to the times or pack it up for the long haul.
Communications

It's quite obvious that Arthur has Internet access. Wouldn't it be nice of him to become part of the solution by printing a copy of the monthly minutes and distributing it to his neighbors who don't have access? I'm so sick and tired of people like him who do nothing but complain without having all the facts. It's seems that those are the ones that are never willing to pitch in and help. LEARN HOW TO COMMUNICATE. Ask questions. If you can't attend a meeting, try several of the ''old fashion'' ways of communicating - knock on a neighbors door, pick up the phone or send a letter to get the facts straight.
