At the WUCA Board of Directors Meeting of August 10, approval for association support for the re-zoning application by Asbury Communities involving the Downing-Asbury-Marion land to the north of the bank and Walgreen's was viewed as a reasonable proposal for development that would transitions from the commercial venues facing Evans, Downing and Marion to existing residential to the north. A letter of support will be mailed to Denver City Council, and the process by the City will proceed through various departments for approval, adjustments and a decision whether it will be PUD or RMU-20 designated. This decision came about after more than four months of deliberation by a Project Review Committee of WUCA and negotiation with the developer to assure the best possible plan for the land utilization.
