Transit-oriented development is scheduled for the southeast Interstate 25 corridor. Plans and an Environmental Impact Statement are being prepared for the corridor between South Broadway in Denver and the terminus at Lincoln Avenue in Arapahoe County. The highway will be redeveloped and a light rail line added to the corridor. Costs for this project are currently estimated is $1.1 billion.
At a February 16 Neighborhood Association meeting, principals from the Colorado Department of Transportation, the transit-oriented development director for the City and County of Denver, and planners from the engineering consulting firm of Carter-Burgess discussed the two light rail stations proposed for the Washington Park area.
Project staff have also scheduled a series of open houses to discuss the redevelopment of the corridor and to record participants' comments. All open houses will be identical in content; no formal presentation will be made.
The open house schedule follows; each session will run from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.:
