WASH PARK RECREATION CENTER POOL SCHEDULED TO RE-OPEN JANUARY 3rd, 2005: Due to renovation construction, the Washington Park Pool will be closed until early next year. "We realize that this is an inconvenience for many of our pool users,?” said Daniel Betts, Denver Parks and Recreation deputy manager of recreation and facility services. "However, putting this renovation off will only cause more deterioration in the pool area as well as increase our safety issues." The pool is currently undergoing over $335,000 in renovations which will include: Resurfacing the pool deck, painting the pool, painting the pool area, installing a new pool boiler, installing new pool filters, installation of a "Pool Pak" (an aquatics climate control system), and roofing repairs. Those pool users who participate in any of Washington Parks' Pool Programs are encouraged to use other Denver indoor pool facilities.
