Our meeting opened at 7:30 with prayer by Sherry Graham. Ivette allowed each board member to introduce themselves. We also welcomed Amjad ?“Mike?” Flammound from the neighborhood Food Market and Beauty Supply Store.

Lt. Fleming gave the update for the last 5 weeks:
?§ 1 car break-in that was cleared
?§ 1 robbery on 8th RD ?– pending
?§ 1 theft of a motor scooter on 7th CT issued
?§ 10 citations for speeding and cutting through the neighborhood
?§ Also addressed big trucks being parked in the neighborhood
?§ 40 arrests within the last month
?§ Also addressed homicide that occurred several months ago- suspect has been arrested
?§ He also advised its illegal for go-peds to be in the streets

We had a guest Alan B. Jackson running for Broward County Commission in District 9-Mr. Franklin advised him that we are in District 7.

Mr. Franklin gave an update on the Enhancement Development Council:
?§ He gave update on the organization MAD-DAD to see if we will be interested
?§ Info on Saturday?’s in the park
?§ Ted Vitale?’s paint program



Ivette asked Mr. Franklin about the standard regarding pouring concrete on top of old dirt in the new homes. He explained how it should be done and told her what the recourses were.

Ms. Corpitt asked Mr. Franklin about the color scheme and condition of the property next door to her. Another resident questioned the house next to her and he assured it would be taken care of. We also discussed the houses that were on the renovation list. Mr. Franklin is still working on getting phone numbers so these occupants can be contracted. He explained how the process works and when occupants can expect their homes to be completed. Ms. Small was upset because her house had not been done.

Yvonne Sumlin explained the organizational chart for the Enhancement District and she asked for volunteers per street to host Saturday in the park. Kenny Habershawn volunteered to do the music. Yvonne also explained our Enhancement District has partnered with BSO to allow our students to get volunteer hours. She is also working on getting information on a Senior Center.

Julia Porter advised us the National Neighborhood Conference is
May 26th ?– 29th. She explained the residents come from all over the country and share their ideas and concerns. This year it will be held in Hollywood, where we will bring back ideas to enhance our neighborhood. She passed out volunteer registration forms.

On May 28th our neighborhood will host the visitors that will come to our neighborhood for a tour. We will have our residents set up as greeters and we will provide the food.

Ivette found several articles in the newspaper from the past month that she brought to our attention:
?§ Motor scooters
?§ Tickets to help the disabled
?§ Information on code violations
?§ CERT classes

Ms. Small is having a problem with no shelter at the bus stop. Mr. Franklin will check and get back to her.

Dues collected tonight were $144.00. The balance is now $ 801.10.
