The meeting started at 7:10pm with the Lord?’s Prayer.

We read the minutes from January 11, 2007. Mrs. Smith made a motion to accept the minutes as written. David Wright seconded the motion. We accepted the minutes as written.

First time guest were introduced. (Ricky Lewis and David Wright.)

Chief Fundo said their was a complaint at the January meeting. The resident didn?’t call him to provide additional information. He talked about the Sistrunk Festival. Traffic blocking our streets will be addressed for next year. There are still problems with purses being stolen from cars left in plain sight. They are working on home burglaries in our Neighborhood. We had 24 arrests in the month of February. They are still working on problems on 9th Street. There have been ten arrests. He discussed the problems with rooming houses. The Neighborhood Enhancement and Preservation Plan that they are using was questioned.

Joy from Code and Zoning said she has visited one of the rooming houses. No one answered the door. We are having problems with a resident working on cars in the street on NW 6th Court. We discussed the Churches that are in violation. Some are working on the problems. We discussed the gates that are not in compliance with our Neighborhood Enhancement and Preservation Plan.

Julia Porter gave report from the Neighborhood Enhancement and Preservation Council. Issues discussed were halfway and rooming houses. We discussed the actions to take to try to resolve issues.

Ivette read a formal letter of complaint regarding rooming houses and presented it to the Neighborhood Enhancement and Preservation Council President Yvonne Sumlin.

A resident question a woman being beaten, Chief Fundo was not aware of said he would check into.

Mrs. Jiles was not present for the Benevolence update.

Ivette said Perry Thurston is in Tallahassee working on Insurance and Tax issues. When he returns he will discuss Annexation.

David Wright and Ricky Lewis discussed the Community Outreach group they started in June 2006. They want to work with the elderly and youth. They are part of Adopt-A-Street. They have scheduled a cleanup on March 24, 2007 between 08:00am and 12:00pm. They will have the trash bags, tee shirts, vest etc. for the cleanup. They will meet at Martin Luther King Elementary. The streets they will be working on are NW 6th Court, 7th Street and 7th Court. They want to paint homes of the elderly. The youth can work with them and earn community service hours. They want to work with our Association.

We were reminded that there is no construction work on Sunday. We need to call BSO to stop it. If we don?’t call when we see things happening that shouldn?’t it will only get worst.

Ivette attended a seminar for disabled and elderly. She wants to get a list of the disabled and elderly in our Neighborhood. Mrs. Smith attended in Yvonne?’s place. She obtained a lot of good information. She has already given information to someone that needed it.

There will be free swimming lessons at Bass Park from March 4th, thru April 4th. Time will be between 2:00pm and 8:00pm. The telephone number is 954 828-5958.

Only two people have been approved for the grant from Community Block Grant. Eight more people could be approved.

Mary Glee said our balance was $1,162.00. $72.00 in dues was collected tonight. Total $1,234.00

Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Avant had a death in their family.

We discussed when we would provide food and flowers for members of the Association.
Mary Glee made a motion to give food and flowers to active members when there is a death of an immediate family member. Mary White seconded the motion. We voted and accepted the motion.
