NEIGHBORHOOD ENHANCEMENT AND PRESERVATION
Council Meeting

October 9, 2003

Our meeting started at 6:50PM.

We received a card from Southeast Landscape Inc. Julia Porter will call them to give a presentation to maintain our entryway and right away. Eugene said that our meetings are now posted for a year on Broward County website with the time, date and location. The meetings are also posted in the Governmental and Commissioners office. The County Commissioners passed our Amendments to the Neighborhood Enhancement and Preservation Plan on September 9, 2003. Our Amendment has been sent to Building Code Services, Development Management, Community Code Compliance and Engineering Division. Any plans to build a house after September 9th have to met the new standards.

We will sell tickets for a raffle for a Christmas Dinner. The winning ticket will be chosen at the Christmas Party on December 11th. We want to get our Street and Block Captains involved again. Eugene suggested a picnic, yard sale, with music and entertainment at the Park. We could also have a Welcoming team for new residents to get them involved with the Association. We will discuss this in more detail in the Civic Association meeting.

One of our homeowners Alberta Brown on NW 7th Street is having problems with noise from the resident next to her. She has contacted the property owner. The owner said that she needs proof of the complaints called to BSO. Alberta has provided the owner with a list of the complaints and she will not accepted it. Alberta sometimes leaves home because of the music and is very unhappy with this situation. Lt. Fleming took the information and will check on the problem. The homeowner in back of the Efficiency has also complained about the loud music on NW 7th Court.
