We opened our meeting at 6:55PM.

We discussed housing requirements for new houses in the future. The items discussed were:

1. No flat roofs
2. Must have concrete driveways
3. Must have garage or structural carport
4. Minimum 1400 square feet living space
5. Must have sprinkler systems
6. No solid walls on front of property (Can have PVC or wrought iron fence)
7. No picket fences
8. Fences or hedges maximum four feet in front of property
9. Chain link fence okay for sides and back of property

We want to see the plans for new houses before building starts. We would like to see them 15 days before our meetings on the second Thursday of each month. We would only review the plans. When the contractor applies for the permit, a copy of the plans should be forwarded to the Council.

We discussed how we would let contractors know about this procedure. Mass media, contacting the property owner by letter was discussed as options.

Yvonne Sumlin made a motion to approve the aesthitics guidelines for new building plans to the Washington Park Neighborhood and Enhancement Preservation Plan. Julia Porter seconded the motion. The Council voted and approved the motion. Yvonne motioned to continue the meeting on 01-23-03. Julia Porter seconded the motion. The Council voted and approved the motion.
