July 6, 2006

Our meeting started at 7:10pm. Yvonne prayed. She gave the roll call all members were present. We read the minutes. James motioned to accept the minutes as written. Elton seconded the motion. We voted and unanimously accepted the minutes as written.

Robert and Carol Taylor are building a home at 2984 NW 9th Street. They want to have a circular driveway. The tree and planter in the street are in the way. They are willing to put the tree on their property in the circular planter. They will pay for all expenses to move the tree and repave the street. The plan was approved by the Engineering Department provided the circular driveway is approved. Mr. Taylor said he works with trees and will take care of the tree. They want a letter from the Council in agreement for them to move the tree.

The meeting was closed for public comment. We discussed the plans provided by Darryl Hardge. The planter and tree is sitting on the property line. The tree and planter would be in the way of the skirt of the driveway. The tree and islands are not on record for the County. We discussed the placing of trees and planters in front of vacant lots. Elton made a motion to approve the relocation of the tree from the County right-away and placed on the property owner circular island. The island in the street will be removed and the street repaved. The property owner will pay all costs to make the change. Idella seconded the motion. We voted and unanimously accepted the motion. We will provide a letter to Darryl Hardge and the County agencies.

Yvonne took pictures of decorative fences for the front of homes. We discussed different options and cost with Ted Vitale. We will do additional research to provide examples to the County of fences. James made a motion to add to Number 9 Standard 7 to describe fence materials for the front of the property. Elton seconded the motion. We voted unanimously to revise the standard. We will get some brochures to have the materials available for residents. Ted will help us with getting it to the County to make the addition.

We addressed issues with BSO attending the Washington Park Civic Association meetings.

Elton made a motion to adjourn our meeting at 8:50. Idella seconded the motion. We adjourned at 8:50.
