Initial Stages of Closes Creek Watershed Project Drawing to a Close

After a series of public meetings, final design recommendations and a construction sequence have been prepared by Snyder and Associates, Inc. to improve the water drainage system for a significant area of Waveland Park. The study recommends improvements including replacing and adding new drainage pipes in parts of the Northwest Drive and Forest Avenue areas of the neighborhood. The entire watershed includes areas of the Merle Hay, Waveland Park, Beaverdale, and Drake neighborhoods bordering Waveland Park, as well as other neighborhoods east to the Des Moines River. A copy of the study's "Conceptual Storm Water Study" and recommended construction sequence will be available at the Fall Membership Meeting on October 24th.
