Calling All Block Captains

Looking for ways to meet your neighbors and get some exercise? Becoming a block captain is one way to accomplish both. The Waveland Park Neighborhood Association is in need of captains for several routes. The duties are simple: deliver the quarterly newsletter, plus any special flyers for events throughout the year. It?’s one of the easiest and most important ways to volunteer for your neighborhood group. The work amounts to roughly six deliveries a year.

If you are already a block captain, we also are trying to update our routes, so please contact us to verify your routes as well as the number of homes in which you make deliveries.

Special thanks to our 30 current block captains who have helped spread the word about special events several times over the summer!

Here are the routes available and number of deliveries required for each. Volunteers can take over all or part of the routes:

44th Place - 7 homes
Kingman Boulevard, from 44th Place to 46th Street - 18 homes
Northwest Drive, 41st to 44th Streets - 44 homes
Leonard Place - 16 homes
University Avenue from 42nd to 48th Streets- 35 homes
46th Street, from University to Carpenter Avenues - 17 homes
47th Street, from College to Franklin Avenues - 41 homes
41st Street, west side only from Franklin to University Avenues - 59 homes
55th St. - from Franklin to College Avenues - 8 homes (includes two homes nearby on Franklin Avenue)
College Avenue - from 41st to 42nd Streets - 6 homes
41st Place - 34 homes
