Help Keep Waveland Park Clean

Mar 19, 2005

Observe Earth Day on April 22nd by going for a walk and taking a trash bag with you to help clean up Waveland Park! An ongoing problem is dog owners who do not collect animal waste when taking pets for a walk. According to Sergeant Scott Raudabaugh, Animal Control Supervisor, ?“The person in charge of an animal is required by city ordinance 18-6 to clean up/remove any excrement/droppings from any public property or any private property not owned/controlled by the animal owner. The standard procedure for reporting any animal violation is to contact the Des Moines Police Department dispatcher at 283-4811 and an Animal Control Officer will be dispatched to meet with the reporting person. The penalty would be determined by a judge.?”

Please be considerate of your neighbors.
