crimes in the area

we have had a increase of crimes, we need to help each other out, pass the word about the watch to others. the watch can work, remember if you need to call the sheriff and you are nervous about them coming to your house, have the officer meet you at the fire station or at the store or somewhere else. They will be more than happy to meet you where you ask them to be.we are better in numbers.Brinks does a discount for large groups. if you are interested in having them come out to your place to give a estimate, etc. let them know you are in the watch and you were sent there by me. Be aware of your surrondings when you go out. there is one thing that had happened to one of my neighbors, they had a Millington Telephone truck that was parked along side the street. They guy tried to break into their house. this was about 8am. then about noon time the guy had come back, that time the guy had damaged the bolt lock. there was marks in the yard where lines were painted like the electric company makes when they are going to bury a line. it was all the way around the electric box and went to their privacy fence. then there a the side of the house where the meter was, something was marked there as well. They did not call electric company to come do anything nor did they call the telephone company to do anything. in between the yard and that electric box that was marked is the driveway, there was no marks on the driveway but there was on the box. sometimes it is hard to describe something to someone when not in person. there were marks in the yard and a mark on the meter only. This is being investigated by Shelby County. I got a call from this neighbor and he had asked me if I had passed the word on to anyone, which I did not because he had asked me not to so the sheriff can do their job and catch the person doing it. But he changed his mind because his son had come home from the a few days later saying a friend of his who lives around here somewhere, their house did get broke into and the neighbors said there was a telephone company truck in the driveway. So I am passing the word around to all about what happened to one of my neighbors. What other thing that is odd is, the next day when I took the dogs out for their walk, I saw the truck in their driveway and I had called the homeowner and let them know about it. They had taken their vehicles and parked them on a different street to make it look like they were not home. they had gotten a call from the tele. person saying that he was on his way and then said you have dogs in your back yard. again, they had no reason to be there. I had made three trips around the block that day. I do believe because I did that, I scared him away from our area.
