Community Apathy a Concern in low Response to
Airport Expansion EIR
Many agree that Westchester and Playa del Rey stand alone on the Westside with their ?“hometown?” feel, kindred community spirit, and safe neighborhoods. Currently, our quality of life is being seriously threatened by the second large expansion of the LAX airport.
Residents are concerned, yet documented responses for the Airport?’s EIR (Environmental Impact Review) have been alarmingly low. Have you turned in a letter or response yet? Do not think that this expansion fight is under control. Your neighbors are assuming the same thing, and apathy runs rampant. Community Apathy may be our undoing!
A public comment form provided by Councilmember Ruth Galanter is available at her field office next to the Loyola Village Library. If you would rather send your response via email, Congresswoman Jane Harman has a comment form available on her website: located at www.house.gov/harman.
Send in your comments now, and encourage your neighbors to also!
The Deadline for Pubic Comment has been extended until September 20, 2001.
