WBNA General Business Meeting Minutes 11-17-2005

7:00 p.m. ?– Metroplex Nazarene Church

Present: Al Dowell, Bebe Dotter, Dion Porter, Cyndye Porter, Jeff Carlisle, Aimee Carlisle, Mike Hedin, Ginni Bless, Denise McGough, Don McGough, Hashem Ghotly, Sally Ghotly, Regina Rainey, Lane Chisholm, Susan Chisholm, Paul Gustin

Meeting Objective: The purpose of this meeting was to elect officers and vote on the by-laws.

Proceedings:

• Meeting called to order at 7:05 p.m by Hashem Ghotly, Steering Committee Member.

• Discussion of By-Laws was led by Jeff Carlisle, Steering Committee Member. Jeff Carlisle made a motion to approve the by-laws. The motion was seconded by Regina Rainey. A verbal vote was taken. By-laws were passed by a unanimous 12 – 0 vote.

• Officer nominations discussion was led by Hashem Ghotly. A motion to elect officers was made by Al Dowell and seconded by Jeff Carlisle. A verbal vote was taken. The proposed slate of officers was passed by a unanimous 16 – 0 vote.

• The Willow Bend 6 Neighborhood Association officers for 2006 are:

President: Jeffrey Carlisle
Vice-President: Don McGough
Secretary: Regina Rainey
Treasurer: Sally Ghotly

• A general discussion of WB6NA goals and activities was facilitated by Jeff Carlisle. Items discussed included the following:
o Block Captains: Al Dowell, Hashem Ghotly, and Bebe Dotter agreed to act as Block Captains. Regina Rainey suggested David Johnson as another Block Captain possibility.
o Budget and Dues: The budget proposed by the Steering Committee was discussed. Annual dues of $35 were suggested.
o Welcome/Social Committee: Sally Ghotly volunteered to assist with this committee. Meeting attendees agreed that Patricia Johnson would be a good candidate to organize this committee.
o Garden Club: Aimee Carlisle suggested organizing a WB6NA Garden Club. Bebe Dotter, Ginni Bless, and Regina Rainey expressed interest in participating in a Garden Club.
o Mike Hedin volunteered to arrange to have the neighborhood streets swept and cleaned with the requirement that nothing (cars, kids, trashcans, etc) be on the street on the designated day.
o Dion Porter answered questions regarding car break-ins, barking dogs, and neighborhood patrols.

• Meeting was adjourned by Jeff Carlisle at 8:15 p.m.
