CURBSIDE RECYCLING IS COMING!!!

Industrial Disposal (I.D.) is starting a curbside recycling program in Oldham County. It will be phased in on 4,000 homes in Goshen, Prospect, Crestwood, Orchard Grass, Willow Creek, and Pewee Valley these are first to be offered the service. Service should be started in these new areas in May. When participation gets to 20%, (it?’s almost there) another 2,000 homes in the south central part of the county will be offered the service. This includes Borowick, Kentucky Acres, Abbott Glen, Northwood, Country Village, Westwood and Echo Valley.
Cost: $ 4.50 per month. Which will be billed individually to each homeowner.
Service: Every Other Week (service day of week to be determined)
Bins: Specially marked 95 gallon/yellow lid cart that is provided. A 65 gallon cart is optional
Materials: Normal recyclable materials; aluminum, tin, **cardboard, *glass, paper, newsprint.
I.D.: is now accepting # 1-7 plastics?…virtually all plastic home items.

(* please note : glass has the least value of any commodity and is the single worst cause of recycling material contamination because of broken glass and renders much of the other commodities worthless, they will collect it, but a pure program is best without it.**all cardboard must fit in cart )

STORM DEBRIS REMOVAL

The Road Department has kicked into high gear in storm debris removal.
On Friday, March 6th I located and drove to Pikeville to pick up a third chipper. This increased the chipping capacity by 50%. They are now chipping 7 days a week. That being said, they are still months from being done. As a practical matter, those of you that are able, might want to burn your storm debris. It is legal to burn in Oldham County until May first. Call Oldham County Dispatch before you burn. This prevents false alarms.
