STORM DEBRIS

The ice storm has proved to be more severe than Hurricane Ike.
Due to the increased volume of debris, the process of removing it will take longer than with the wind storm. Ike took weeks to dispose of and this could take months.

As a practical matter, you might want to salvage what firewood that you can and burn the rest?…..if you are able (Oldham County Residents). You are able to burn in Oldham County until May 1,2009.

Oldham County burn ordinance requires you to call Oldham County Dispatch at 222-0111 when you start and finish. This will help prevent a false alarm with the fire department.

The following was copied from the Oldham County Fiscal Court website www.oldhamcounty.net

WINTER STORM DEBRIS CLEANUP PROCEDURE

Oldham County will follow the same procedure for storm debris cleanup as was done with the windstorm last fall.
Residents are asked to place storm debris at the edge of the road making it easier for the crews to pick up and place in wood chippers.

There will be no schedule for pick-ups. Multiple passes will be made through the county. The Road Department will continue to pick up debris until it has all been
removed.

Pick up on county roads (unincorporated) will be given first priority, followed by city roads (if necessary), and state roads will be cleared last.
Your patience is greatly appreciated during this clean-up effort. THANKS!
