General Rules:

· The Willow Point tennis courts may be used only by Willow Point Homeowners Association members and their guests.
· Court hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
· Lights are to be turned off by the last person on the courts.
· Jumping over or leaning on the nets is prohibited.
· Proper tennis etiquette should be observed.
· Tennis shoes are required.
· Bicycles, skateboards, roller skates, toys, scooters, motorcycles, and pets are not permitted on the courts or on the playground area.
· No glass containers, food, or gum will be allowed inside the fenced area at any time.
· No smoking inside the fenced area.
· Spectators are to remain outside the fenced area. No small children or non-players should be on the court.
· Pets are not permitted in the Recreation Area.
· Children under the age of 9 may play only under the supervision of an adult.
· All guests must be accompanied by a playing WPHA member.
· Foul language and abusive behavior are prohibited.
· Lessons are to be given on the third court whenever possible. When the third court is not playable, Courts 1 or 2 may be used if available. Courtesy dictates that Court 1 should be used since the balls tend to accumulate downhill. Care should be taken to try and keep balls on the lesson court when possible.
· All players must sign in on the sheet for the court on which they are playing. Failure to do so may result in the loss of the court. Please refer to instructions for each court.
· Organized team matches, ALTA or USTA and any makeup matches will take precedence over other play.
· Warm-up is to be included as part of your allotted court time.
· Sign-up sheets and sign-in information will be posted outside Court 1.
Guest Policy:

· All Guests must be accompanied by a playing WPHA member.
· Willow Point residents who are not members of the WPHA cannot be guests.
· No member can use more than one court for guest play without permission of the Recreation Committee.
· More than 3 guests requires the permission of the WPHA Recreation Chairperson or President.

Tennis Etiquette:

· Wait until play has stopped before entering courts. When players are playing on Court 1, please use the back gate to enter Court 2. Only retrieve balls on the other court after play has been stopped between points.
· Common courtesy applies in returning a ball entering your court from another court after the point is finished.
· Avoid loud conversation, music, abusive language and other actions that may disturb other players.
· Doubles play is encouraged when a number of players are waiting for court time.
· If others are waiting, please leave the courts promptly when your time has expired.
· Please be considerate of the neighbors adjacent to the recreation facilities. Their property is private and not a cut-through to the recreation area.

Following are the rules for each of the three courts. Please refer to each when playing.

Court 1 (Next to Pool)
No advance sign-up for this court.

· In order to eliminate conflict and abuse, a sign-in sheet or board will be used for this court. This will also allow those who come after you to know when the court will be available. Your name and starting time must be indicated on this sheet in order not to forfeit the court. Remember, you can only sign in when you start play on this court.
· Doubles are allowed one-and-a-half hours and Singles one hour.
· Juniors and Seniors will play on a first-come, first-served basis until 6:30 p.m. After that, Seniors have precedence over Juniors who are waiting to play. If no Seniors are waiting, Juniors may play in order of arrival. Juniors may not be removed by arriving Seniors until the end of their court time.

Courts 2 and 3 (Annex)
Advance sign-up allowed for these courts.

· WPHA members may sign up only once for any given day.
· Sign-up may be done only one day in advance.
· Doubles are allowed one-and-a-half-hours; Singles one hour.
· When a court is reserved, all four names, (two for singles), must be logged on the sign-up sheet.
· A ten-minute grace period will be allowed before forfeiting the court. If waiting unsigned players start play, and those who have signed up for the court arrive within the ten-minute grace period, the court must be surrendered to those signed.
· Juniors may sign up until 5:00 p.m. (Doubles play to end at 6:30 p.m., seven days a week.) Seniors may sign up at any time. Juniors may play, but may not sign up after 5:00 p.m. If the court has not been signed-up and Juniors are playing, they may not be removed by arriving Seniors until the end of their set or for a half hour, whichever comes first.
· Juniors playing with a Senior have Senior status.
· Lessons will be held on Court 3 (Annex) whenever possible.

Failure to adhere to any of the General Rules, Guest Policies, Tennis Etiquette, Individual Court Rules, or Team Practice Rules may result in the suspension of tennis privileges.
Violations will be handled by the WPHA Board of Directors.

Organized Team Tennis: (ALTA/USTA)

· Willow Point residents who play on Willow Point teams must be paid-in-full members of the Willow Point Homeowners Association. Spring ALTA players may not play if their dues are not paid by March 15. It is up to the Team Captain and Team members to see that non-paying team members do not play.
· Team Captains must turn in a copy of the officially submitted roster to the Recreation Committee Chairperson within one week of turning it in to ALTA/USTA. The recreation chairperson will notify the Team Captains of any members who have not paid their dues. Any add-ons during the season must also be submitted to the Recreation Committee Chairperson. Failure to do so will prohibit this player from playing.
· Teams must have a minimum of 60% of their members from Willow Point. Guests on these teams will pay a fee. The fee is $25 per season. The fee for guests of junior teams is $15 per season. The fees for non-resident guests are due no later than the first team match.
· Senior teams will be allotted three hours of practice each week on Court 1 for ten weeks during the season from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Junior teams will be allotted two hours of practice per week, on either Court 1 or Court 3, either 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., or some similar time. These times will be posted on a Master Schedule. During these times, the practicing team may not sign up in advance on Court 2, but may sign up to play on it, if available, at the beginning of their scheduled time. Any other recreation members who are not part of the practicing team, may sign up for Court 2, even while a team practice is in session. If team players are already signed up for and using Court 2, then they must be allowed to finish their allotted one-and-a-half-hour timeframe. We encourage early sign-up to eliminate conflicts during a team practice.
· Any changes from current practice times must be submitted and approved by the Recreation Committee Chairperson.
· Because the playability of all three courts is essential with the number of teams in our neighborhood, each team will take turns keeping all three courts in playable condition. This includes removal of trash and debris. It is the responsibility and duty of each Captain to see that their members all take part in their responsibility. The recreation committee will determine which months each team will be responsible for the maintenance of the three courts.

It is the right and duty of every dues-paying WPHA member to see that our rules and court etiquette procedures are practiced. It is your duty to help the Recreation Committee be aware of any problems or of any violations of these rules. Please do not be offended if someone asks you who you are. We are only trying to make sure that our facilities are used and enjoyed by our members. Any violation of the above will be handled by the WPHA Board of Directors.
