This and That

First, let me say thanks to all the board members who dedicated their time and energies to the HOA for the past several years. Many new projects were completed. For any homeowner not recently on the site you need to visit. It looks great!
Welcome to the new board and thanks also for making a commitment to serve all of us for the next two years. Your efforts will be appreciated by all.
We are establishing an email database to include all homeowners. This will, it is hoped, improve communication and cut down dramatically on mailing costs.
Don Erb, our homeowners president from many, many years has agreed to stay on the board as a non voting member in the position of Treasurer. He has made remarkable improvements to Lodge ll. Thanks Don for all your accomplishments.

Welcome all new owners!

Beautification Plans

Having spent many weeks at Lodge II this summer, I have to say that it only gets better! Clear blue skies with anything from 30 degrees in the morning to 85 by noon whilst Denver was melting with at least mid. 90's.
What more could you ask. Beautiful flowers wild and planted were everywhere. I can remember when there were no flower boxes in the valley and now they are everywhere. At Lodge II they were magnificant - there is something about flowers in the mountains, I don't know if its just the cool evenings or the altitude but the colors are so intense - such wonderful blues.
T The valley was hopping with so many activities you couldn't keep up with them. Food fairs, cycling & running races, hiking, art and so many wonderful people donating their time to charities and the entertainment of vactioners. Such a busy place, but so peaceful if that is what you desired. However, I have to tell that no one was more busy than the beavers across the road in the Fraser river just south of the lodge. Beaver lodges four feet high have completely changed the flow of water so the water going downstream by the Fraser museum is shallow and weedy. I was thrilled to actually see one late one afternoon. Why are there so many all of sudden? I can only think its due to the drought and they need more deep pools or more likely construction upstream.
Th e Lodge now has a "beautification" committee to assist the board and we have many plans most of which will come to fruition in the Spring. New fences, landscaping, more flowers, picnic tables etc. are in the plans. The new bike storage in "D" bldg. will keep clutter off the decks and stop damage to both the inside and outside of the condos (I saw three guys, renters, taking all three bikes into an upstairs condo). We are trying to make our complex really stand out in the valley and hope all this will help ensure that the renters feel this is a place to be careful with.
Owners, please if you have any ideas to make the Lodge more beautiful please let us know.
There is still plenty of gorgeous weather for us all to enjoy before that beautiful snow starts falling, the trees are turning and I'm sure the beavers will still be putting on a good show. So .... think snow .... LOTS OF IT!!! -

Fall has arrived in the Fraser Valley. There is currently a dusting of snow atop Parry Peak and the leaves are almost at peak colors. The Valley has finally been blessed with some much-needed precipitation.
The ski area has set its opening date as November 13. Mayor Webb has visited Winter Park recently as part of the final negotiations with Intrawest. Spirits are high in anticipation of new investments in the ski area.
Season Pass "4-Packs" are currently available for $900 ($225 each). You may order them online at www.skiwinterpark.com. Start praying for snow!!
