Gloria Marble is the person that arranges for all of those wonderful trips we take. She spends hours on the phone trying to coordinate schedules and reservations and buses and car pools and collecting the money and sending in the money and arranging for tickets, etc. etc. Obviously, she has nothing else to do?…so she makes all of the posters and sign up sheets also! And then we have the wonderful lady who doesn?’t exactly get the fun job. If there is someone who is ill or who has had a death in their family, they can contact Kathy Campbell. Kathy?’s title is Care Chairman and she takes that title literally. When you talk to Kathy on the phone, you?’re not just talking to a person doing a job. You are talking to a person who really cares about her community. Gloria and Kathy were recognized at the April meeting and presented with flowers and cards of appreciation, along with our gratitude for their hard work and dedication. We also had a special guest of honor. Edna (Granny) Williams was present to receive our fondest wishes for continued happiness in her new home. We hope she?’ll come back and visit from time to time.
Are You Coming With Us?
Monday, May 8th. 2:00PM. The Century of Broadway features the Sound of the Rockies Chorus and other outstanding quartets. The cost of $10.00 includes the RTD.
Tuesday, May 16th., 9:00AM We will be carpooling to the Museum of Natural History, spend time with the exhibits, have lunch at the museum and then see the 1PM Imax film on Dolphins.
Sunday, May 28th. 3:00PM "Marvin?’s Room" at the Denver Civic Theatre. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The cost of $6.00 includes the RTD Ride.
Friday, June 2nd. 8AM Carpool to Rocky Mountain Arsenal for the Wildlife Tour. This will be a great trip. The cost of $2.00 will help pay your wonderful driver for their gas.
On September 8th, there is a tour leaving for Santa Fe, New Mexico for 3 days and 2 nights. If you are interested in going, you need to sign up by July. Please call Gloria for more details.
