Our particular neighborhood has had great success in dealing with issues of crime by becoming a part of the Houston Police Departments' Ciizens On Patrol program. This program is sponsored by the police department and has been very effective in deterring criminal activity and creating working partnerships with the local police districts and the beat officers that patrol our streets.

About Citizen Patrollers

The Houston Police Department has provided us with training and communication equipment.

All members of the Glen Lee Area Citizen On Patrol group must participate in mandatory training sessions by the police department which encompas the following: Rules and Procedures, Guidelines for Patrollers, Guidelines for Base Station Operators, Emergency Assistance Procedures, Information Exchange, Memory Enhancement Skills, Observation Skills for accurate suspect identification and regular re-certification training.

All members of the COP are screened by the Houston Police Department and must maintain a current TDL, vehicle registration and insurance and must submit to a criminal background check by the HPD and it's cooperating agencies.
