As everyone that lives here in the Glen Lee subdivision knows by now,we have new neighbors. So far there have been 16 homes dedicated by Habitiat For Humanity. Women In Community Service Inc. was happy to present Welcome Baskets to all
who have moved in to their new homes. New home owners also received information packets filled
with telephone numbers and other helpful items that they will be able to use, settling into their new homes.
It was a chilly, but wonderful day all the same, as we all gathered together to dedicate the homes. A blessing was pronounced on the
family and home with a prayer for each new home and it?’s owners. Two books were also presented to each new family, a Home Improvement book, and the most important home improvement book of all ... a HolyBible.
After the dedications and speeches, the Citizens On Patrol had hot dogs and cold drinks for everyone, and of course there was cake for dessert. We want to thank Phil and Thelma Harrison for doing the cooking that day. We were all ready for some lunch, and it was a wonderful opportunity for us all to get to know each other, talk about COP and WICS and invite our new
neighbors to quickly become involved with our programs and
projects.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join in on the upcoming dedications. We look forward to seeing old neighbors and meeting new ones. Also, don?’t forget to obey the speed limit rules and watch for the children playing. We
have a lot more children now, and very few places for them to play. They often take their activity into the streets. PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY!
