STATE LEGISLATIVE NEWS
The State Senate passed a bill which became law on July 1, 2010 stating that a homeowners association may not adopt or enforce a rule that prohibits a member of the homeowners association from displaying a candidate or political election sign on the member’s property, beginning 30 days before an election and ending 5 days after the date of the election to which the sign relates. This new law does not supersede the number and size of signs defined by association covenants. A homeowners association may remove a sign that violates the rules permitted by this law.
