BIG THANKS to Mike Maciejewski, Matt Dager, Dave Berg and Mike Ripley for watching the dumpster on Clean Up Day. They each received a T Shirt, work gloves and trash bags supplied by the City, for volunteering their time. This yearly event is a great opportunity for our residents to dispose of unwanted items, free of charge, and the Association appreciates those who volunteer an hour of their time to help each year.

Healthy Tip
Blueberries might be small, but don?’t be fooled. This super food has a lot of antioxidants, such as vitamin C. Antioxidants help fight disease by protecting against unstable molecules called ?“free radicals?”. Free radicals cause cell damage. This might raise a person?’s risk for cancer, heart disease or Alzheimer?’s disease
BACKYARD CAMPFIRES
City Ordinance Section 94.71 prohibiting open burning within city limits does include an exemption to allow for family cookout campfires. however this exemption is subject to (among others) the following: fire must be attended by responsible party at all times until completely extinguished and if the fire creates a smoke nuisance, or hazardous conditions exist, the open burning shall be immediately extinguished. If you have a campfire and your neighbors are being ?“smoked out?” and ask you to put the fire out, you must do so or risk a visit from the fire department.
Remodeling????
If you are planning any exterior remodeling, adding a room, installing a fence, replacing siding, etc., it is important to first contact the Architectural Committee and let them know what you are planning to do. They will walk you thru the approval process.
REMINDER REGARDING
GARAGE SALES
With summer finally here and the economy still not making rapid progress towards improvement, the Board recognizes that Garage Sales will be on the increase as a way to pick up a few extra dollars. Bearing that in mind, however, you are reminded that pursuant to Fort Wayne City Code, Chapter 157, yard and garage sales may not exceed three (3) consecutive days and also note that they may be conducted not more than three (3) times in a calendar year. Be further advised that if you participated in the Association Garage Sale in May, that is considered as one of the three sales allowed per year. Thanks for your understanding and compliance with this City Ordinance.
June & July are good times to apply a grub control if these ?“pesky things?” are present in your yard.
Apply a balanced fertilizer with broad-leaved weed control in late August / early September (if weeds are present).
