The Woods of Shavano Community Association

President's Letter (Jan/Feb Issue)

Apr 10, 2000

I hope this newsletter finds you and your family well. You may notice a new format for the Shavano News. In the interest of keeping our community informed, we have expanded the size of the newsletter to accommodate the volume of news to report.

I would like to extend a special thanks to Laurie Reagan for her work as editor of the Shavano News over the past year. Laurie plans to continue her service on the board in a new capacity. I would also like to welcome Bill Noble to the board as our newsletter editor. Bill brings a wealth of experience in community affairs and will also be responsible for other community communications. A special thank you is also in order to Bill and Debbie Vetter for arranging the holiday decorations and lights at the community entrances. The decorations keep getting better every year!

I am pleased to report that our San Antonio City Councilwoman Bonnie Conner will address our annual General Membership Meeting on February 24. The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Woods of Shavano Clubhouse. I urge you and your family to attend this important meeting. In addition to hearing from our councilwoman, we are going to discuss a myriad of issues important to our community and the future direction of your association.

I also wanted to call your attention to the planned development near our community. The board is taking an active interest in this and other developments and is working to assure that the concerns of residents of the Woods of Shavano are addressed. If you are interested in seeing more detailed diagrams for the Shavano Park development that boarders our community or being kept informed on the progress and development plans, please contact Bill Noble by e-mail at noblew@flash.net or by phone at 210-834-1934.

Lastly, I would like to invite any interested resident to attend our monthly board meetings. The meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month. The next meeting is February 3. Please call 492-2701 if you have any questions or to reach any board member. It is a pleasure to serve you.
