- Parking Problems on West Court: A committee member brought photos of certain glaring cases. The Board review them at their meeting, 9/24/01
- Community Events: The committee discussed how their first community event, the Summer Social, went - both pros and cons; and will incorporate those ideas into the next events ?– a Halloween Costume Parade and a Christmas Wreath Contest. See accompanying article elsewhere in this newsletter. We developed plans for the parade in October.
- The need to post community announcements/flyers, without defacing government property (mailboxes): The committee discussed several inexpensive solutions to review with the Board
- The September-October Newsletter: drew up a list of articles, and a rough time table, including Board review. The Rules and Regs article, on decorating for the holidays, will appear early enough this year, so that everyone will know what?’s permitted and what?’s not, because of damage to common elements like building roofs and siding. The committee also got a copy of nearby Elmhurst?’s community newsletter, for comparison to ours.
The meeting also covered other issues: an update on recent attempts to get bids for siding and window repair/replacement, and how to handle situations where children and adults come over from the Woodside Apartments, by themselves, to use our new central playground equipment.
Will and Annie described a holiday practice out on the West Coast called ?“Candyland?”, where a block of homes will cooperatively decorate their houses along one theme. Will will talk more about West Coast condos he visited recently at the next committee meeting.
The Marketability Committee always welcomes new members, whether for just a special project like the community events, or for regular meetings. It?’s a great way to meet your neighbors throughout the community. We?’ve all enjoyed working with each other this past year, and look forward to another year.
